Happy Trails
Boarding
Kennel

Meet kennel kitties, Spook (odd
eyed white) & Boo (blue eyed
white)!  They are the in-house
kennel "mascots" and love the
dogs and other critters that
come to visit!  Both were
adopted from the
Cowley County
Humane Society & have found
their forever homes here at
Happy Trails.

Rio is the Happy Trails office assistant.
She enjoys keeping me company when I
am working on the computer and on a
daily basis makes it her top priority to
help keep my reservation book open by
lounging on it.  She was found as a stray
years ago, and so became part of our
family.    She is an excellent couch and
bed warmer and loves to snuggle up next
to her people, providing a relaxing end to
a busy day.

Sassy has been with the kennel since we
opened in Nov. 1996, she was only 6
months old at the time.  Sassy was
originally "hired on" for mouse patrol, but
she has taken it upon herself to be our
people and pet greeter instead.  At the
first sound of a vehicle coming up the
drive, she runs out to meet them and
escorts them back up the drive.  Sassy is
always ready to meet a new two or four
legged friend!

Christi Grow, owner and operator of
Happy Trails.  All my life I have been a
complete animal nut, therefore building
and running this kennel business has been
a dream come true!   In my spare time I
keep myself busy by volunteering at the
Cowley Co. Humane Society, helping with
South Central Kansas Kennel Club
obedience lessons, making visits with my
therapy dogs & doing yard work.  I also
enjoy camping & trail riding my Missouri
Fox trotter with my family & friends.

Kevin Grow, building maintenance, handy
man, grounds keeping and support crew
are what I do best.  I occasionally will
check in / out dogs if I am available and
"the boss" is not.  I also fill in on cleaning
and feeding duties if needed.   Being a
farm boy, I have been around animals all
my life and especially enjoy horses and
dogs.  In my spare time, I enjoy horseback
riding & a relaxing game of golf.

Toni Brothers, occasional kennel
assistant.  I discovered my love of animals
during the 10 years I worked for a local
veterinary hospital.  Currently interested
in learning more about my Tennessee
Walker, Major and enjoying the great
outdoors while riding trails with my
friends.  In addition to Major, I am owned
by a Bichon Frise' (Annie) and a wonderful
grand daughter named Maddie!

Shana Drake, occasional kennel
assistant.  When I'm not working my day
job, and I'm not busy working on our
farm and cattle ranch with critters or
crops, I am able to help out at Happy
Trails when needed.    I am also busy
raising three active teenage children,
running our household and taking care of
yard work.  Our pets include 4 dogs, 3
cats, 3 horses and 4-H cattle.

Rebbecca Hoover, occasional kennel
assistant.  I am a full-time college
student at Cowley College majoring in
Accounting and plan to later transfer to
Wichita State.  I am an active member of
the
South Central Kansas Kennel Club and
I enjoy spending my spare time with my
four legged furry friends, which consists
of a Jack Russell Terrier, a Nova Scotia
Duck Tolling Retriever, a miniature horse
and an Arabian horse.

Lorry Utech, occasional kennel assistant.
Since I work 50 hours a week as a
Manufacturing Engineer, and am busy
raising 2 active pre-teens, I help out on
evenings or weekends at the kennel when
needed.  Our family owns 9 horses, 4 dogs
and numerous cats.  Our kids show with
the Kansas Paint Horse Association and we
all enjoy trail riding and boating with
friends and family. I am also an active
member of a National Clogging Exhibition
Dance group.

Loryn Utech, occasional jr. kennel
assistant.   I am able to come help at
Happy Trails when Mom comes to fill in
occasionally.   I am number one puppy
petter and kitty cuddler!!   I also do
important chores like dispense treats and
make sure that all the pets feel extra
special and loved.   I spend a lot of my
free time working with horses, training
and riding my APHA show mare, Miracle &
playing with our 4 dogs.   I also enjoy
reading, trail riding, riding our wave
runners on the lake & playing with my
kittens.
